Double Chocolate Crunch Bar
Oh what a treat for everyone, sweet, soft and packed with chocolate!
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Backing Powder
2 cups miniature marshmallows
6 Ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup creamy peanut butter
3 cups crisp rice cereal
Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs and vanilla. Set aside. Stir together flour, nuts, cocoa, baking powder and salt; stir into egg mixture.
Spread in bottom of greased 13 in by 9 in by 2 in baking pan. bake at 350 F for 15 – 20 min or until bars test done.
Sprinkle marshmallows evenly on top; bake 3 minutes more. Cool. In small saucepan, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter;
cook and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted. Stir in cereal. Spread mixture on top of cooled bars. Chill; cut into bars. Refrigerate. Yield 3 – 4 dozen bars.
