Mom’s Old Fashion Cream Cookies

This cookies do have a long history,  my Grandma told my mom she could not get married until she knew how to make this cookies.

They became my mom’s favorite cookies, they are mine as well, now my kids get all excited when I make them.

Ingredients

 

3 Cups Cream

3 Cups Sugar

3 Eggs

1/2 Cup Butter

1/2 Cup Lard

2 tsp. Vanilla

2 tsp. Backing Soda

3 tsp. Backing Powder

1 tsp. Salt

6 Cups Flour

Frosting

2 Cups Powder Sugar

1/3 Cup Cream (depends on how thick you like it)

2 tbsp. Peanut Butter

1 tsp. Vanilla

Garnish

Toasted Peanuts

 

Combine: Cream, sugar, eggs, butter, lard  and vanilla, let stand for about 20 min. In a separate bowl combine Flour, backing soda, backing powder and salt. Mix the dry ingredients with the first ingredients. Form a soft dough. Divide the dough in four.  On a floured surface place 1/4 of the dough, knead a little bit, until dough is no more sticky on the outside.  Put a good amount of flour and place the dough on the flour an roll out until dough is 1/4 of an inch thick. With a cookie cutter cut cookies out. Get the excess flour of the cookies and place into a cookie sheet. Bake for 12 min at 350F.  Yields 65 Cookies
